When we set out to build the smallest electric heater we could, we started with a specific heart: a 400V, 2500W halogen lamp, wrapped into a body that’s just 300mm long. It’s not just about making things small. It’s about squeezing serious heat into a tight spot. And that 400V choice? It’s a smart one. It lets us push 2500W of power without needing a massive electrical current. Less current means we can use thinner wiring and smaller contactors. So the whole unit stays compact, and we keep material costs down.
The Materials, and Why They Matter
The heating element lives inside a quartz tube, filled with halogen gas. This setup keeps the filament steady, even when it’s blazing hot, and helps prevent that annoying blackening you see over time. The R7s connector is a straight, double-ended fitting. It’s built to handle high heat, and it makes the lamp a simple swap-in when it’s time for a replacement. No fuss. We also coat the tube to control the infrared output. That means the energy goes where you actually need it, and you don’t waste heat that could bake the parts around it.
Where It Shines, and What to Keep in Mind
This heater was made for real industrial work—think PET blowing, where you need pinpoint heat in a tight machine bay. The compact size lets you slip it into cramped spaces without overhauling the whole machine. But here’s the thing: packing 2500W into a 300mm tube creates intense, local heat. So you need to make sure your machine’s cooling and airflow are up to the task. Small size, yes. But the heat it delivers is very real.
