Most infrared lamps are… well, short. But when you’re running a glass tunnel kiln, “short” is a problem. You’ve got a massive footprint to cover, and if you’re just stitching together a bunch of small lamps, you end up with cold spots. It’s frustrating. That’s why we build custom quartz heater tubes that go beyond 2 meters. No more guessing games with your temperature. Just one long, continuous stretch of heat. The trick to the length You can’t just stretch a filament and call it a day. If you do, the middle might burn out while the ends barely get warm. It’s a mess. We spend the time calculating the voltage drop and the wattage for every single centimeter. We match the filament density to how fast your conveyor is moving. The result? Your glass gets the same thermal treatment from start to finish. No surprises. Keeping it from breaking High-purity quartz is great for handling thermal shock, but let’s be honest: a 2-meter glass tube is a bit nerve-wracking to handle. They can sag or snap if you aren’t careful. To stop that from happening, we beef up the end-caps and use heavy-duty connectors so the lamp actually stays put. And if your material needs a specific kind of heat, we can add coatings to the quartz. It basically nudges the emission spectrum so the heat hits your glass exactly where it needs to. The trade-off (and a warning) The best part is that these are drop-in replacements for those oversized industrial ovens. Because the lamps are longer, you have way less wiring to deal with. Fewer connectors means fewer things that can break. It’s just cleaner. But here is the catch. These tubes are fragile. Youcannotjust toss them in without the right support brackets. If they bow under their own weight when they get hot, the filament will fail. Period. Make sure your mounting frames are aligned within 2mm. It sounds picky, but it’s the difference between a lamp that lasts for years and one that cracks on day one.
